Martha's remarkable menu of facials uniquely integrates holistic modalities into traditional concepts, and six of the treatments are specifically designed for those with serious skin challenges. The herbal “Paprika Facial” uses handmade Hungarian organic products designed to detoxify, deeply exfoliate and rejuvenate the skin. The “Anti-Aging Facial” improves skin tone and elasticity through a triple acid peel growth factor treatment that reveals underlying healthy skin. The unique “Facial That Rocks!” relieves discomfort caused by allergies or other inflammatory conditions by integrating the use of warmed and cooled stones with a European face, neck and shoulder massage. In addition, this energizing combi-nation promotes in-creased circulation to the underlying skin tissues and aids the relief of migraines, sinus pain and acne.

I tried their popular “Signature Spa Facial,” followed by a magnificent foot massage with heated mitts, an invigorating scalp massage, a “Stimulating Herbal Body Treatment” and a body massage. Using an Italian line of organic products chosen to complement my skin type, Martha skillfully stroked my face with alternating hot and cold silky-soft infrared spoons. The cold spoon calmed my acne-prone skin and the hot spoon drew out impurities. After the facial, Martha shared nutritional information with me, based on observations and information gathered from her analysis of my skin. Martha was knowledgeable, nurturing and professional and used only high-quality natural products in her treatments to give me a smooth, radiant complexion. The cost of facials at Martha's La Look ranges from $40 to $120.

Much like the facials, La Look's body treatments offer several therapeutic benefits including inch loss, re-mineralization, improved circulation and hydration of the skin. The “Stimulating Herbal Body Treatment” was a traditional body wrap that created a temporary loss of inches. I first sat in a “steam cabi,” a personal steam chamber, for 15 minutes to increase my circulation and open my pores. Next, massage therapist Stacey Morgrett massaged a stimulating blend of paprika and organic herbs all over my body. She then tightly wrapped my cellulite areas in plastic. Stacey explained that inch loss is achieved through increased circulation and oxygenation of the cells. This treatment also detoxifies and improves the elasticity of the skin. When the treatment was finished, Stacey rinsed my body using a Vichy Shower, a table with showerheads above it. This shower is designed to relax, cleanse and improve circulation. Enveloped in a womb of warm water, I felt nourished and safe. Martha told me later that the physical and emotional body releases into the natural currents of a Vichy Shower.

During my next visit, I will try the “Vichy Shower Salt Scrub,” an application of sea salts and essential oils to exfoliate dry and devitalized skin, followed by a rinse with the Vichy Shower. This treatment sounds perfect for rejuvenating dry winter skin. Another interesting body treatment offered at La Look is their “Hungarian Herbal Mud Treatment.” During this treatment, the therapist dry brushes your skin to promote circulation and then smoothes soothing thermal mud onto your body while you are cocooned in a wrap. This re-mineralizing treatment is also followed by the Vichy Shower and is perfect for oily, acne-prone skin. The cost of La Look's body treatments ranges from $90 to $165.

La Look offers a full range of massages including the “Relaxation Massage,” “La Look Stone Therapy,” “Couples Massage,” “Reflexology,” and their “Signature Massage” which combines a facial aromatherapy massage with a full-body massage. I ended my delightful day at Martha's La Look Medi-Spa with a massage. The therapist, Phillip Vucsko, gave me a hearty deep tissue massage in my neck, shoulders and back, but he used a gentle, relaxing touch while massaging my arms and legs, which was heavenly. The prices for the massages range from $60 to $115.

I highly recommend Martha's La Look Medi-Spa. La Look's therapists were professional and accommodating, the quality of the treatments was superb, and the interesting combinations of treatments absolutely entice me to frequent this spa on a regular basis. My practical side loves the idea of fitting a facial, body treatment and massage into my busy schedule!
